about the dancing boutique

In 1971, frustrated by the lack of dance shops outside of London, the Dancing Boutique was created by the mothers of two keen dancers from Tunbridge Wells.

The company has stayed in the same family for the last 48 years, growing into a sought after dancewear supplier to leading dance schools and a much loved place for dancers of all ages to seek out expert advice, professional pointe shoe fitting and shop from a large range of dancewear from some of the dance world's leading suppliers.

As we work closely with local and regional dance schools, we regularly take our pop-up shop to their studios to make the fitting and buying process easier. Through these relationships we are able to enjoy supporting young performers throughout their dance journey, from little ones through to the stage and even into retirement.

We have a passion for quality, design and style and work with leading UK and international brands, as well as many smaller manufacturers who can supply unique designs or materials that we know our dancers will love. A selection of our manufacturers also produces custom uniforms for us, meaning that we can work with our schools, from initial concepts into full production and ongoing supply.

In 2019, the company moved into new hands and new ownership; still family owned, with a dancing daughter (how history repeats itself) and with the passion, experience and energy to build on Dancing Boutiques success of the last 50 years.

With an experienced team of staff, with first class knowledge, a commitment to service and a love of dance, Dancing Boutique continues to work with our dancers, our schools and our suppliers to ensure that we are their first thought for dancewear - in-store, online and at selected schools.
